About

"MY HAND TOOK A LONG TIME TO FIND THE BRUSH, BUT WHEN IT DID, THE SHAPES AND COLORS WERE ALREADY THERE."

The magnetic pull began during the first confinement of the pandemic. The slow motion of life, the silence of the streets embellished by the birdsong suddenly audible, allowed me the freedom to discover frank, neo-neon colors.

My painting is quite constructed, geometry has a large place in it.

It is sometimes floral; the Provencal heat has it’s influence there; sometimes focused on a light that is detected by rays of different colors. I intend the work to be obstinately positive, even in negative space.

I tend to use acrylic and I paint in any medium.

My name is Isabelle Coulet. I was born in Paris and I live between the capital and a small village in the Enclave des Papes, in the Vaucluse.
